Students are following in the footsteps of Olympic Gold medallist Nicola Adams at Reading Girls' School. The PE department ias running boxing classes for all year groups to raise interest and awraeness in the sport. Ms Conway said: "It's really good for us as a school and I feel strongly about tapping into the olympic spirit. It will encourage the girls and help them discover a new sport that has become much more acceptable since the olympic triumphs. They have a really good time and it's great to get throught to students of all ages with this new class"

Ms Conway believes boxing vents built up frustrations and is a healthy way of releasing tension away from the girls' classwork. The classes are part of Access Sports Active Women Project which aims to involve disadvantaged areas with new sports opportunities.
