Y11 held a fundraiser for GOSH

Year 11 held a fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital. They invited Rob Wilson MP to come along and questioned him about why Hospitals need to raise funds, why wasn't everything covered by the NHS? He is getting used to being grilled by our girls on various subjects! He took a turn selling refreshments, and then said a few words before the event commenced, he explained that the main reason he had accepted the invitation was because he understood teachers were to be tortured!

The teachers who bravely volunteered, were required to eat 2 cakes and drink a pint of milk, the eventual winner being the one who consumed the most. However I am sorry to report that Mr Hughes was sadly cheated of his title, he had clearly consumed the most, but then other staff members recruited students to stand in for them when they were full, leading to Mr Nichols being declared the winner!

The whole point was to entertain and raise funds so this was a great success, the girls raised over £500 during the days entertainment and food sales, and just under £200 by collecting money in town after school (with the necessary legal permit of course) So they will be sending a total of £700 to Great Ormond Street Hospital, and I'm sure the money will be well used.
