Public Speaking Competition Success
Our year 9 girls put on a great show at the recent Prudential Public Speaking Event
Reading Girls’ School have beaten teams from other local schools to win a local Public Speaking Competition, taking both 1st and 2nd prize!
The competition was hosted by Prudential as part of Business in the Community’s Business Class activities. This links schools with businesses to help students prepare for their future working lives.
Teams from Blessed Hugh Faringdon School, Denefield School, John Madejski Academy and Reading Girls’ School took part in the competition, and spoke about a variety of subjects. Judges were provided by Prudential, Peter Brett Associates and KPMG. All the students did excellently - it is never easy speaking before a large gathering.
The teams from Reading Girls’ School were delighted to be declared the winners of both the 1st and 2nd prizes, with their public speaking about Schrodinger’s Cats and Mental Illness. As well as certificates and prizes, they also have a very large cup!
