Teacher Training Opportunities
At Reading Girls' School, we are passionate about developing future educators. In collaboration with the University of Reading, UCL, and TSH Berkshire, we provide robust training opportunities for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Early Career Teachers (ECT) through the Early Career Framework.
Initial Teacher Training (ITT) with the University of Reading
We work with the University of Reading to offer aspiring teachers practical experience guided by experienced mentors. As part of the Reading Cluster, led by the Maiden Erlegh Institute, we foster a supportive and engaging learning environment. We’re proud to announce that in July 2024, one of our mentors was awarded the James Furlong Award for Outstanding Contribution to Mentoring in the University of Reading Secondary ITE Partnership, highlighting our commitment to excellence.
Early Career Framework (ECF) with UCL and TSH Berkshire
Our ECTs benefit from a structured program through the Early Career Framework, delivered by UCL and TSH Berkshire, which offers targeted support and development. Here’s what recent ECT graduates have shared about their experiences:
"The departments are supportive, with centralized planning that lets me focus on classroom best practices. The diverse student body enriches my teaching experience and helps me refine my methods."
